Ways to Give
Your support helps preserve the legacy, community, and mission of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp. Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp is an all-volunteer organization, and every contribution - financial or otherwise - helps us move closer to a sustainable future for camp. Your generosity allows us to build the structure, momentum, and capacity needed to sustain our efforts for generations to come.
Funds & Endowments
Fueling camp, empowering youth, and sustaining our future – explore the ways your gift will make an impact:
Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp Operating Fund
We’ve learned that it takes about $9,456 annually to keep Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp running strong. That covers our essentials.
Campership
Every dollar goes directly to a camper registration fee. Kids entering kindergarten through age 18 are eligible, which means your gift might steady a nervous five-year-old at their first overnight or send a seventeen-year-old to Y Camp’s Leadership in Training program.
Endowment
Your gift is invested permanently, and only what it earns goes to work each year, funding campers, staff, and the place itself. That means the gift you make today is still making gifts a hundred years from now, long after all of us are gone.
School Access fund
This isn’t just a scholarship for one lucky child – it’s a whole classroom on a bus. Your gift covers the fees and transportation that keep a district from staying home, sending another generation up to the lake.
Leadership Gifts & Pledges
If you’re considering a leadership gift, we welcome the chance to connect personally and discuss your goals, questions, and vision for what camp can become.

I am interested in making a planned gift. Where do I start?
Leave a Legacy of Camp Magic
A gift in your will or estate plan helps ensure that a camper you’ll never meet – decades from now – finds their way to Lake Wenatchee and experiences camp magic for themselves.
It’s simpler than you think.
A bequest can be a single sentence added to your will. You can also name Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy – a straightforward way to leave a legacy of opportunity for generations of campers.
Sample bequest language
“I give to Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp (Tax ID: 39-5070430), a Washington nonprofit corporation, [the sum of $____ / ____% of my estate / the residue of my estate], for its general charitable purposes.”
We recommend sharing this language with your attorney or financial advisor, who can tailor it to your plans.

I would like to make a gift of stock. How does that work?
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds you’ve held for more than one year can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. You may claim a federal income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the securities — not just what you originally paid — and avoid capital gains tax on the transfer entirely.
To receive stock transfer instructions, please contact us at Gifts@friendsoflakewenatcheeycamp.org. Please ensure your name and the purpose of your gift are included in the contribution information.
How do I make a gift via my Donor Advised Fund?

Do you have an Endowment? How can I learn more?
Yes! Our endowment is a lasting investment in the future of camp. Rather than spending your gift right away, the Friends invests endowment funds permanently. Each year, a portion of the investment earnings supports camper access and programming — removing financial barriers for individual campers, families, and Outdoor Education participants. The original principal remains intact and continues to grow, ensuring your generosity benefits the Lake Wenatchee Y Camp community forever.

The fine print:
“IRS regulations require us to note that the Community Foundation of North Central Washington (the “Community Foundation”) will not provide any goods or services to you in exchange for a contribution to the Camp Magic Endowment Fund (the “Fund”). The Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation has the authority to redirect contributions from the Fund if it becomes necessary to protect donor intent.”
“Donations raised on behalf of Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp will be added to the “Fund” at the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. The Community Foundation may disburse grants from the Fund as recommended by the advisors to the Fund or as community needs dictate. All checks should be made payable to the Community Foundation of North Central Washington/ Camp Magic Endowment Fund.

I am over 70½ and am curious about Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs).
If you are 70½ or older and have an IRA, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) — also called an IRA Charitable Rollover — is a simple and tax-smart way to support camp. In 2026, you can direct up to $111,000 per person from your IRA directly to Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp without counting that amount as taxable income. For donors 73 and older, QCDs also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
In 2026, you can also use up to $55,000 of your QCD to establish a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA), providing you with fixed income payments for life while supporting camp.
To make a QCD, contact your financial advisor or IRA administrator and direct the distribution to Friends of Lake Wenatchee Y Camp, EIN: 39-5070430.
