2021-2022: Cabin Leader, 2023: LDP Coordinator, 2024: Assistant Director.

I am nominating myself for a position on the Friends of Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp board because this camp changed the course of my life, and I want to do everything I can to ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.

I worked at Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp from 2021 to 2024, starting as a Cabin Leader (2021–2022), then serving as the LDP Coordinator in 2023, and most recently stepping into the role of Assistant Director in 2024. Making the decision to step away in 2025 due to a new job opportunity was one of the hardest choices I’ve ever had to make. I first came to camp in 2021 during a time when I was searching for my place in the world. What I found at camp was so much more than a job, it was a home. It was the first place I truly felt safe to be myself. I found a family there, and that’s why I returned year after year.

Camp grew me into the leader and the woman I am today. I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be where I am in my career or in my personal growth if it weren’t for the time I spent up at camp. I want to stay connected to Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp because I believe in the magic it brings into people’s lives. I want to continue to fight for this space—for the joy, safety, and growth it provides young people and staff alike. Camp changed my life, and I want to make sure it can continue to change the lives of others. Thank you for considering me for the board. It would be an honor to give back to the place that gave me so much.
