Rental group participant of 35 years: Family Fellowship Activities.
At 17 I joined the Ski Patrol, which I did for 42 years contributing to many leadership positions. It also inspired me to my first degree, Atmospheric Sciences, which lead to work in both research and forecasting for several years.
When a ski patrol friend asked me to apply for a job as an Embedded Software Engineer in 1976 for a microprocessor-based product in I was ready for a change. At first, I was self-taught and later took classes digital electronics, software engineering and a graduate degree in business. I switched to selling the kinds of products I had been designing and founded my own company representing companies building state of the art digital test equipment products for the semiconductor, computer and communications industries.
I’ve been a volunteer all my life. Besides ski patrol for which I held many leadership positions, I did winter search and rescue becoming chairman of the organization, I was an EMT for more than 20 years including teaching new EMTs for many years. I was on the board of directors for my Temple. I’ve held several leadership positions for the HOAs in both neighborhoods I’ve lived in. I also served as a board member and Treasurer of Fellowship Activities the group that has rented the Y Camp one week every August since 1963.
As a kid and young adult, I attended several summer camps, taught swimming at the local YMCA, was a lifeguard, became a counselor, waterfront director and camp director. All with fond memories.
